Jennifer Chasteen Named League Pitcher Of The Week

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Senior Jennifer Chasteen, who picked up her second victory of the young season at the Lady Bison Classic, has been named Horizon League Softball Pitcher of the Week, for the period February 28-March 6.

Chasteen tossed a complete game shutout to lead Butler to a 5-0 victory over Appalachian State in the four-team weekend tournament hosted by Lipscomb.  She allowed just six hits and had only one runner reach as far as third base in the dominant performance.  The Butler righthander struck out seven, while waking just one.

In 12.2 innings of work this spring, the Avon High School product has not allowed an earned run.  She has both of Butler’s wins this spring and stands 2-1 on the young season.

Chasteen and her teammates will be back in action at the Rebel Games in Florida, beginning on Sunday, March 13.  The Bulldogs will play 10 games in six days in Orlando.
