INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Seven players contributed to a 15-hit attack and Butler rolled to a 9-2 victory over Detroit to complete a three-game series sweep at the Butler Softball Field on Sunday, April 22.  The wrapped up the Bulldogs' 2012 home schedule.

Sophomore Megan Gray and freshman Kristen Boros sparked Butler's big offensive day with three hits apiece.  Gray, getting her first series' start in left field, had three singles up the middle, drove in a pair of runs and scored a third in three official trips to the plate.  Boros had a pair of singles and her third home run of the season in her three official at-bats.

The two were among six Butler players who had multiple hits in the win.  Junior Meaghan Sullivan had a double, a single and two runs scored, while senior Erin Falkenberry clubbed her seventh home run of the season and added a single and two runs scored.  Senior Mallory Winters and junior Kayla Gray each had a pair of singles.  Gray drove in two runs.

The Bulldogs (20-27, 10-8 Horizon League) jumped to a 2-0 lead in the second inning on run-scoring singles by Megan Gray and Kayla Gray and then broke a 2-2 tie with a single run on Kayla Gray's single in the fourth.

Butler broke things open with four runs in the fifth, including a leadoff home run by Boros and a two-run shot by Falkenberry.  The towering shot to left field by Falkenberry boosted her Butler career record for home runs to 39.

Starting Butler pitcher Leah Bry blanked the Titans (10-36, 2-15 HL) on no hits through the first three innings of the game, before surrendering a pair of unearned runs in the fourth.  She pitched two more shutout innings, and then gave way to senior Breanna Fisher, who pitched a scoreless seventh.  Bry picked up all three wins in the series and improved to 8-15 on the year.

Butler will play its final six games on the road, beginning with a doubleheader at league-leading Valparaiso on Wednesday, April 25.
