Bulldogs Sweep BIG EAST Softball Awards
Freshman Alyssa Lach and junior Kristin Gutierrez led Butler to five wins, including a BIG EAST series sweep, and the two have been honored by the conference for their peformances. Lach was named BIG EAST Softball Player of the Week, and Gutierrez was chosen BIG EAST Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Butler Completes BIG EAST Series Sweep
Butler rode the bat of Kristen Boros and the arm of Kristin Gutierrez to a 4-1 victory over visiting Georgetown to wrap-up a three-game BIG EAST series on Sunday, April 19. The win gave Butler a series sweep and lifted the Bulldogs to 21-22 on the season and 7-8 in the BIG EAST.

Bulldogs Sweep BIG EAST Doubleheader From Georgetown
Three Butler pitchers combined on back-to-back shutouts and the Bulldogs swept two run-shortened BIG EAST games from Georgetown by the identical scores of 8-0 on Saturday, April 18. The victories on Butler’s annual Strikeout Cancer Day lifted the Bulldogs to 20-22 on the year and 6-8 in the BIG EAST.

Butler Wins Third Straight
Freshman Alyssa Lach provided a lift at bat and in the field and helped power Butler to an 8-5 victory over Eastern Illinois in a non-conference game at the Butler Softball Field on Tuesday, April 15. The win was Butler’s third straight and lifted the Bulldogs to 18-22 on the season.

Butler Rallies For Extra Inning Win
Sophomore Brandyce Sallee turned in a career-best hitting performance and then scored the game-winning run to lift Butler to a 6-4 extra-inning victory over Ball State in a non-conference road game on Tuesday, April 14. The win boosted the Bulldogs to 17-22 on the season.

Bulldogs Defeat Villanova In Series Finale
Junior Riley Carter slugged a clutch, two-out double to give Butler a lead, and the Bulldogs held off a late Villanova rally to post a 5-4 victory in the series finale between the two teams on Sunday, April 12. The victory, Butler’s first at home this season, lifted the Bulldogs to 16-22 on the year and 4-8 in BIG EAST play.

Bulldogs Drop BIG EAST Twinbill
Visiting Villanova rode two strong pitching performances and some clutch hitting to a pair of victories over Butler on Saturday, April 11. The Wildcats won the first game at the Butler Softball Field, 2-0, and then completed the sweep with a 9-2 victory in the nightcap.

Butler Falls At Notre Dame
Allie Rhodes and Katie Beriont combined on a four-hit shutout and led host Notre Dame to a victory over Butler, 8-0 in six innings on Wednesday (April 8). The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 15-30 on the season.
