Four Butler Softball Players Named All-BIG EAST
Four Butler players, including one repeat selection, were named to the 2015 All-BIG EAST Softball Team, chosen by a vote of conference head coaches. The all-conference team was released by the BIG EAST on Wednesday, May 6, in advance of the upcoming league tournament.

Brandyce Sallee Named BIG EAST Player of the Week
Sophomore Brandyce Sallee closed out the regular season with an impressive power display, and her performance earned her BIG EAST Softball Player of the Week recognition. She became the fourth different Butler player to earn the league’s Player of the Week honor this season.

Bulldogs Win Season Finale At DePaul
Junior Kristin Gutierrez retired the final two batters she faced with the winning run on base in the bottom of the seventh inning to help Butler post a 5-4 victory over DePaul in the final regular season game for both teams on Sunday, May 3.

Butler Drops Two Games At DePaul
DePaul used a potent offense and steady pitching to hand Butler a pair of setbacks on Saturday, May 2, and put a serious crimp in the Bulldogs’ BIG EAST Tournament hopes. The host Blue Demons won the opening game of the three-game series, 7-2, and then came back to take the second game, 8-4.

Bulldogs Face Crucial Final Series At DePaul
Butler will close out its regular season schedule and try to capture a spot in the upcoming BIG EAST Softball Championship when it visits DePaul for a three-game series on Saturday and Sunday, May 2-3. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at 12 p.m. (CT), and then wrap up the regular season with a single game on Sunday, beginning at noon.

Late Butler Rallies Come Up Short
Visiting Seton Hall used a power-fueled offense and a clutch defense to hold off Butler and record a BIG EAST doubleheader sweep on Sunday, April 26. The Pirates captured the opener, 5-4, and then held on for a 6-5 win in the nightcap.

Butler Edges Seton Hall In Series Opener
Strong pitching by junior Kristin Gutierrez and clutch hits by senior Kristen Boros and sophomore Brandyce Sallee helped lift Butler to a 4-3 victory over Seton Hall in a BIG EAST game on Saturday, April 25. The game, originally scheduled as part of a doubleheader, was delayed by rain for nearly five hours.

Bulldogs Split Non-Conference Doubleheader
Senior Kristen Boros, pressed into duty in the pitcher’s circle, turned in her first career complete game and helped Butler to a 2-1 victory and a split in a doubleheader at Miami, Ohio, on Tuesday (April 21). The host RedHawks captured the first game of the twinbill, 5-3.
