Jamie Wonderly Named Horizon League Pitcher of the Week

Senior righthanded pitcher Jamie Wonderly posted three wins in four days last week and earned Horizon League Softball Pitcher of the Week honors. She's the first Butler pitcher to be honored by the league this spring.

Wonderly was the winning pitcher in Butler's 4-2 victory at Bradley on Wednesday, March 28, and two days later, she pitched to the Bulldogs to an 11-0 victory over Notre Dame College. The senior pitcher then wrapped up the week 24 hours later by pitching Butler to a 5-1 victory over Wright State in the Horizon League opener for both teams. She also was the starting pitcher in Butler's 4-3 victory over Bellarmine, but she didn't get the decision.

Wonderly allowed just six earned runs in 24 innings of work during the week. She allowed just 21 hits in the four contests and tossed two complete games. The Butler pitching ace improved to 6-3 on the season.

Butler returns to action with a doubleheader at Purdue on Tuesday, April 3, before returning home to host Evansville in a twinbill on Wednesday, April 4. The Evansville doubleheader will be played at Midwest Sports Complex, beginning at 2 p.m.
