HAMMOND, La. – The Butler women’s tennis team played outside for the first time Thursday, falling at Southeastern Louisiana, 7-0. The Bulldogs are now 5-7 on the season.
SLU swept the doubles point and all six singles bouts. The Bulldogs who saw the most success were junior Natali Jaimes and sophomore Cam Thompson. Jaimes won her first set at No. 2 singles before falling 6-1, 6-3 in the next two sets. Likewise, Thompson dominated 6-0 in her first set at No. 5 before dropping the second set and a 10-7 third-set tiebreak.
Butler returns to the court March 20 at home against Detroit.
