INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler women's tennis team split two dual matches this weekend at home, falling to Milwaukee 6-1 and defeated Green Bay 7-0.
The weekend split moved the Bulldogs to 4-2 in Horizon League play, one game out of 2nd place in the league standings. Both Milwaukee and Cleveland State are 5-1.
For the weekend, sophomores Stephanie McLoughlin and Gabrielle Rubenstein went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles. The duo beat UWM's Maddy Soule and Christina Colarossi 8-3 and Green Bay's Jennifer Bradfield and Morgan Weuve 8-1.
Butler won the doubles point vs. the Panthers, but were swept in singles play. McLoughlin had the most success in singles play, winning a set before falling at No. 2 singles.
BU, playing with an altered lineup, routed Green Bay on Sunday morning. All six singles players won in straight sets, including sophomore Laura Shull's 6-0, 6-0 win in the sixth spot.
Butler has two matches remaining in the regular season at Cleveland State and Youngstown State April 21-22.
