INDIANAPOLIS - Defending Horizon League champion UIC ended Butler's women's tennis season by beating the Bulldogs 4-0 in the league tournament semifinal on Saturday. BU's season ends with a 9-15 record.
UIC won at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles to claim the doubles point, then won three quick matches in the second half of the lineup. The Flames have won 14 straight league tournament titles.
The match was the final contest with seniors Ashley Breitenbach, Kahfii King, Kate Panawash and Cam Thompson on the roster. The 2012 women's tennis senior class won 47 dual matches during its four-year career at Butler.
Five singles starters, including the top three players, return for Butler next year.
