Hedrick leads Butler Over the Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler women’s tennis team split a pair of matches over the weekend. The Bulldogs defeated IUPUI 7-0 on Friday but lost to UIC 4-1 on Sunday. 

The doubles pair of junior Caroline Hedrick and senior Brittany Farmer won the No. 1 match 8-7. Junior Stephanie McLoughlin and freshman Konstantina Adami followed that up with another victory at No. 2 doubles, 8-5.

Hedrick also led the Bulldogs in singles play, winning her No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-1.

The match against UIC was the last one in the Butler bubble for the team’s seniors, Clare Cornelius and Brittany Farmer. 

Hedrick continued her four match win streak with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles. 

Butler visits Saint Louis on April 13. That match will be their final contest of the regular season. The Atlantic 10 Championships start on April 18 in Charlottesville, Va.
