Women’s Tennis Takes 7-0 Loss at Marquette

MILWAUKKE, Wis. – The Butler women's tennis team faced the Marquette Golden Eagles in BIG EAST action this Sunday afternoon. The 'Dogs took a 7-0 loss placing them at 0-3 in conference and 3-15 overall.

The two teams squared off at Helfaer Tennis Stadium, where the Golden Eagles took the doubles point by dominating the action on all three courts. The duo of Stephanie McLoughlin and Kailey Eaton represented BU in No. 1 doubles. They were defeated 8-3 by Rocio Diaz and Erin Gebes.

Grace Hyde and Angelina Qin took an 8-2 setback at No. 2 doubles and the tandem of Konstantina Adami and Jocelyn Koester dropped an 8-0 decision at No. 3.

All six single matches were completed in straight sets as the Golden Eagles improved to 10-6 overall and 2-0 in the BIG EAST conference. Adami was the top competitor for BU in singles play as she fell 6-3, 7-5 to Ali Dawson at the No. 2 spot.
