|Title:||Head Women's Tennis Coach|
Tayo Bailey, a former all-conference player for the Bulldogs, was hired as head women's tennis coach at Butler University in June 2012. Bailey returned to her alma mater after professional coaching stints in Chicago and Miami.
Bailey, a 2006 Butler graduate, was a three-time first team All-Horizon League standout for BU. She is one of 25 players in that conference's history to earn first team honors at least three times. Additionally, she helped Butler to three appearances in the conference tournament final.
The inner-city Chicago, Ill., native replaced former long-time coach Jason Suscha, who coached the women's program for 13 seasons.
Bailey sported a 74-46 singles record at Butler, including a 25-10 mark as a junior in 2005. She had a winning record in each of her four seasons as a college tennis player.
After her playing career, Bailey stayed around the program as Suscha's women's assistant coach for two seasons. Butler advanced to the Horizon League championship match in both seasons she was on staff. She then spent time as a tennis professional and fitness trainer at various spots in Miami and Chicago before spending the last two years as a pro at the Goldfine-Smatt International Tennis Academy in Hallandale Beach, Fla.
Bailey earned her degree in biology in 2006. She also earned a master's degree from Nova Southeastern.
