Annie Gantz begins her second season as an assistant coach for the Butler women's tennis team. After graduating from Butler in 2004 with a Middle/Secondary Education and English major, Gantz now teaches eighth grade language arts at Clark-Pleasant Middle School, which is located on the southside of Indianapolis. In addition to helping out with the women's team at Butler, Gantz debuted as the head tennis coach at CPMS this fall. As a member of Butler's tennis team from 2000-2004, Gantz helped her team achieve four consecutive second-place finishes in the Horizon League Championships. She earned multiple academic honors during her career, including Academic All-League and Horizon League Academic Honor Roll recognition. Gantz served as the president and huddle leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at Butler during her first three years. Gantz was also a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. Gantz attended Greenwood Community High School in Greenwood, Ind. She played basketball, tennis, and was a cheerleader for GHS throughout her high school years. Gantz earned second-team All-State honors in 2004. She also was named to the 2004 Indiana North/South team and the 2004 Indiana/Kentucky All-Star team, which she traveled to Louisville, Ky., to compete against the top high school seniors from Kentucky. Gantz resides in Indianapolis, Ind.
