Freshman Natali Jaimes scored a two-set victory at No. 2 singles, but DePaul earned wins in the other five singles bouts after sweeping the doubles competition to take a 6-1 decision over the Bulldogs on Saturday (Jan. 19).
Jaimes, playing in her first collegiate dual meet, put up a strong showing in the No. 2 position with a 6-2, 6-4 win over the Blue Demon's Gergana Ganeva.
DePaul proved to be too much in the match, however, claiming two-set decisions in the other five match-ups.
Butler returns to Indianapolis on Sunday (Jan. 20) when it hosts Bowling Green in the home opener beginning at 12:00 noon.
