Women's Tennis Falls Short Of Akron, 5-2

Indianapolis, Ind. - Gabriella Bobrowski and Cam Thompson each picked up singles victories, but the effort would not be enough, as visiting Akron fended off the Bulldogs for a 5-2 decision on Saturday (Feb. 7) afternoon at the Butler Bubble.

Bobrowski scored a two-set win over Carolina Castro Cota at the No. 4 position, winning 6-4, 6-1. Thompson, meanwhile, ousted the Zips' Jeremie Benjamin at the No. 5 spot, 6-2, 6-1.

The win by Bobrowski gives her six singles victories on the year, including a team-best four in dual meets this spring. Thompson's win also gives her six on the year and second of the spring season.

Butler returns to action on Friday (Feb. 13) when it hosts DePaul beginning at 4:00 p.m.
