Indianapolis, Ind. - The DePaul women's tennis team showed why they own at No. 57 ranking the NCAA, as the Blue Demons held off the host Bulldogs, 7-0, on Friday (Feb. 13) afternoon.
Butler was unable to get much going in doubles competition, as the Blue Demons scored a pair of 8-1 decisions at No. 1 and 3 before completing the sweep of the point with an 8-3 win at No. 2.
Singles play did not provide much relief for the Bulldogs, as DePaul claimed each match in straight sets. Gabriella Bobrowski put up the toughest resistance at No. 4 singles, rebounding from a 6-1 opening set defeat to force a tie-breaker for the second, but the Butler sophomore would fall just short in a 7-6 (4) Blue Demon win.
Butler will try to rebound on Sunday (Feb. 15) morning when it hosts Murray State beginning at 10:00 a.m.
