Indianapolis, Ind. - The Butler women's tennis team claimed wins in all three doubles matches before claiming five of the six singles bouts for an 8-1 decision over cross-town foe Indianapolis on Friday (Feb. 29) evening at the Southside Tennis Club.
Playing under Division II scoring, the Bulldogs scored the first three points of the match with a sweep of the doubles competition. Molly Casperson and Becky Jenkins cruised to an 8-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles, while Gabriella Bobrowski and Natali Jaimes added a swift 8-2 decision at No. 1. Tiffany McLoughlin and Michelle Hawes finished play with an 8-5 win at No. 3
McLoughlin and Hawes carried the momentum into singles play, posting perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Bobrowski added a 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 3, while Jenkins scored a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 4. Casperson, meanwhile, tallied a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1.
The Bulldogs return to action on Sunday (March 2) when they travel to Dayton for a 1:00 p.m. match with the Flyers.
