Dayton, Ohio - Butler continued its recent run of success on Sunday (March 2), scoring a win in the doubles point before sweeping through singles play for a convincing 7-0 victory at Dayton.
The win is the Bulldogs' third in a row and fifth in the last six matches.
After falling at No. 1 doubles, Butler rallied for wins in each of the remaining eight bouts. Molly Casperson and Valerie Vinluan teamed up for an 8-6 win at No. 3 before Gabriella Bobrowski and Michelle Hawes battled for a 9-8 (5) decision at No. 2.
The rout was on from there, as the Bulldogs would win every set in singles play for their third 7-0 win of the year.
Bobrowski put up the most dominant showing at No. 3, sweeping past Megan Gray in a 6-0, 6-0 bout. Becky Jenkins and Hawes each notched 6-1, 6-2 wins at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively, while Natali Jaimes added a 6-1, 6-3 showing at No. 2.
Butler returns to action on Wednesday (March 5) when it takes on Ball State beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Muncie, Ind.
