Indianapolis, Ind. - After coming up short in doubles play, Butler rebounded for wins in the top five singles positions to score a 5-2 victory over Horizon League opponent Green Bay on Sunday (March 29) at the Butler Bubble.
The win sends the Bulldogs to 8-9 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.
The Phoenix jumped out to a 1-0 lead after notching wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Natali Jaimes and Gabriella Bobrowski scored the Bulldogs' lone win at No. 2, topping Kelly Stadum and Morgan Weuve, 8-5.
Butler would come roaring back in singles play.
Molly Casperson got things started with a quick 6-1, 6-0 decision at the No. 3 position before Becky Jenkins scored a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 4. Bobrowski and Jaimes added victories at the top two spots, with the former scoring a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 and the latter chipping in a 6-4, 6-1 decision at No. 2. Cam Thompson closed out the Butler scoring at No. 5, notching a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 5.
Butler returns to action on Saturday (April 4) when it hosts league foe UIC beginning at 1:00 p.m.
