Bulldogs Continue Tournament Play At Ball State Invitational

Muncie, Ind. - The Butler women's tennis team continued its fall season last weekend at the Ball State Fall Invitational. Sophomores Molly Casperson and Becky Jenkins scored a pair of doubles wins to score the Flight A doubles title. Jenkins also advanced to the finals of the Flight B singles bracket, while freshman Gabriella Bobrowski claimed the consolation championship after winning three-straight matches.

Casperson and Jenkins held off Megan Martzolf and Brintney Larson of Miami (Ohio) in a 9-8 (10-8) semifinal match before topping Milwaukee's Kelly Drvaric and Kari Kastenholz, 8-5, for the title.

In singles competition, Jenkins reeled off wins over Milwaukee, Dayton and Northern Illinois to advance to the championship round before falling to Miami's Kelly Douple in three sets.

Bobrowski rallied for three wins in the consolation bracket, topping players from Dayton and IPFW before scoring a 6-2, 6-1 win over Nikki Dzubay of Dayton in the final match.

Casperson added a pair of singles wins in the tournament, as did senior Tiffany McLoughlin and sophomore Valerie Vinluan.
