Weekly Notes: Women's Tennis

UP NEXT: The Butler women's tennis team will host Eastern Illinois on Thursday (Mar. 28) in a 3 p.m. match and will welcome St. Louis to the Butler Bubble for a 4 p.m. match on Friday (Mar. 29) for a pair of non-league matches this week. The Bulldogs currently hold a 5-9 mark on the season.
TAKING A BREAK: The Bulldogs struggled in their spring break action in Hawaii, falling to Hawaii (5-2) and BYU Hawaii (7-0). The duo of Mindy Champion and Laurel Clements posted a win in No. 3 doubles against Hawaii, while Molly Figel and Jaci Hoffman each won their respective singles matches.
STREAKING: For the first time all season, the Butler women's tennis team posted back-to-back wins over their opponents. The Bulldogs defeated Louisville, 4-3 on Friday (Mar. 22) and knocked off Detroit, 7-0, in a Horizon League match on Saturday (Mar. 23). The win over the Titans lifts Butler to 2-0 in league action.
BACK IN ACTION: Senior Olivia Pedro was victorious in her first appearance on the court this season after battling back problems throughout the 2002 campaign. She and doubles partner Amy Steiner defeated Detroit's Andrea Buter and Mandy Perzanowski 8-3 in No. 2 doubles.
