Indianapolis, Ind. - After picking up wins in both singles and doubles play last weekend at the ITA Midwest Regional Championship, Butler sophomore Natali Jaimes was named the Horizon League's Women's Tennis Player of the Week. The league office made the announcement on Wednesday (Oct. 29).
Jaimes scored a victory in the first round of singles play at the ITA Midwest Regional in East Lansing, Mich., last weekend, rallying for a three-set 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 decision over Michigan State's Lindsey Lonergan. She also teamed up with Gabriella Bobrowski in doubles play and held off the duo of Merel Beelen and Jennifer Barnes from Iowa for an 8-6 decision to move on in the bracket.
The award is Jaimes' second weekly honor of the season. She also picked up the award on Oct. 1.
