Jeff Getz Named Volleyball Assistant Coach
Indianapolis, Ind. - Jeff Getz, who spent last season as an assistant coach at Miami (Ohio) after six years on the coaching staff at Evansville, has been named assistant coach for the Butler volleyball team. Head coach Sharon Clark made the announcement on Thursday (April 2).

Karen Weatherington Accepts Head Coaching Position At Kennesaw State
Indianapolis, Ind. - Karen Weatherington, who recently finished up her fourth season as associate head coach of the Butler volleyball team and sixth with the program, has been named the new head coach at Kennesaw State. The university made the announcement earlier this week.

Bulldogs Conclude Impressive 2008 Campaign
The Bulldogs put together one of their finest seasons in recent history in 2008. Butler's .633 winning percentage (19-11) is the program's best mark since 2004 (.643), while the 19 victories are the most since the 2003 squad totaled 20 on the year. The Bulldogs also picked up two regular season tournament championships during the season, the most since the 1997 team won three during the year.

Bulldogs Fall Short Of Title Match In Grueling Five-Set Match
Butler put together one of its best offensive performances of the season, knocking down a season-best 77 kills on .306 hitting, and put itself on the brink of an appearance in the Horizon League Championship match, but top-seeded Milwaukee scored the critical points it needed late to escape with an incredible 37-35, 18-25, 26-28, 25-18, 15-8 decision at Woodling Gymnasium on Saturday (Nov. 22) afternoon.

Butler Surges For 3-1 Victory Over Loyola In League Quarterfinals
Jessica Wolfe tallied her 12th double-double of the season, Dana Daprile notched her sixth and Maureen Bamiro posted a career-high eight blocks, as the fifth-seeded Bulldogs rallied from a crushing opening-set loss to score a 7-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-23 victory over fourth-seeded Loyola in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League Championship on Friday (Nov. 21) afternoon at Woodling Gymnasium.

Three Bulldogs Tabbed To All-League Squads
Three Butler volleyball players have been honored with post-season awards from the Horizon League, as sophomore outside hitter Kelsey Labrum was named the league's Newcomer of the Year while junior outside hitter Porshia Allen and sophomore outside hitter Jessica Wolfe were named to the all-league team. The league office made the announcement on Wednesday (Nov. 19).

Volleyball Opens League Tournament Against Loyola On Friday
Butler opens up the 2008 Horizon League Championship this weekend as the No. 5 seed and will take fourth-seeded Loyola in the quarterfinals on Friday (Nov. 21) beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Woodling Gymnasium on the campus of Cleveland State. A win in the match would send the Bulldogs onto the semifinals on Saturday (Nov. 22) at 12:30 p.m. The championship match is scheduled for noon on Sunday (Nov. 23).

Raiders' Five-Game Win Spoils Bulldogs' Senior Night
Butler led 2-0, and had a pair of match points in the third set, but couldn't sustain the momentum, falling to Wright State 26-24, 25-19, 25-27, 18-25, 9-15 on senior night at Hinkle Fieldhouse.The loss drops Butler to 18-10 overall and 8-8 in Horizon League action.
