Sharon Clark Named Facilitator In NCAA Forum
Butler volleyball coach Sharon Clark will coaches, administrators and sports professionals from around the nation as a facilitator in the NCAA Career in Sports Forum. The four-day event will host 400 current student-athletes who are interested in coaching. It will be held downtown at the Marriott Downtown May 11-14.

Butler Volleyball Spring Season Update
The Butler volleyball team started its spring season recently with a pair of events at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs hosted a women's open tournament on March 27 and then welcomed IUPUI to Hinkle for a scrimmage on April 2.

Jessica Wolfe Named AVCA All-America
Junior outside hitter Jessica Wolfe was named honorable mention All-America by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). She becomes the second player in Butler history to capture AVCA All-America honors, joining Areal Bienemy (2003-04).

Junior outside hitter Jessica Wolfe was named Midwest All-Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Wolfe, the Horizon League’s leader in kills and points, was one of 14 players in the Midwest to receive the honor.

Volleyball Season Ends With 3-1 Loss In Quarterfinal
Butler’s best volleyball season in recent years came to an end Friday night as the No. 4 seed Bulldogs lost to No. 5 UIC, 3-1, in the quarterfinal of the Horizon League Volleyball Championship at Cleveland State. The Bulldogs finish the season 21-14.

Trio Of Bulldogs Named All-Horizon League
A trio of Butler volleyball players have been named All-Horizon League, according to a vote by the league’s nine head coaches. Junior Jessica Wolfe and senior Porshia Allen were named to the 14-member all-league team, while freshman Gina Vera was voted to the all-newcomer team.

The Butler volleyball team will travel to Cleveland for the Horizon League Volleyball Championship this weekend. The Bulldogs, the No. 4 seed, will take on UIC in the quarterfinal Friday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. The lowest seed remaining will play regular season champion Cleveland State Saturday at 1 p.m.

Junior Jessica Wolfe had 22 kills on .391 hitting and added nine digs but Milwaukee defeated the Butler volleyball team, 3-1, in the Bulldogs’ regular season finale Saturday evening. With the loss, Butler enters the Horizon League Championship next weekend with a 10-6 league record and the No. 4 seed.

The Butler volleyball team enters the season’s final regular-season weekend enjoying one of its finest seasons this decade. Butler opens the 2009 volleyball season August 28-29 at the IPFW tournament in Fort Wayne, Ind. The Bulldogs take on Drake and the host Mastodons on Friday, Aug. 28 before playing Eastern Illinois and Kent State the next day. The Bulldogs returns five starters from last year’s 19-11 team. Butler, which finished 8-8 in Horizon League play last year, was picked to finish fourth in this year’s Horizon League preseason poll.

Four challenging tournaments and another exciting Horizon League campaign await the Butler volleyball team this fall, as the squad’s 2009 schedule was released on Wednesday (June 17). The Bulldogs will work their way through a strenuous 34-match regular season slate beginning with a pair of matches on August 28 and ending in the Horizon League Championship from Nov. 19-23.
