Butler Falls At Cleveland State, 3-0

CLEVELAND - League-leading Cleveland State strengthened its hold on the top of the Horizon League standings as it defeated the Butler volleyball team, 3-0, Saturday night. CSU evened the season series as it matched Butler's victory over the Vikings back on Sept. 25.

Tied at 9-9, CSU took control early and jumped out to a 20-11 lead. Cleveland State ended up winning 25-16.

The Vikings (22-5, 10-  HL) routed Butler in the second set, jumping out to an 11-1 lead and never looking back. Cleveland State managed a sizable lead and won the set 25-14.

The Bulldogs (17-11, 7-4 HL) fought back in the third set, and trailed just 17-15 in order to force another set. With Cleveland State leading 20-17, the Vikings won the final five points of the set to win the set 25-17 and clinch the set.

Junior Jessica Wolfe had seven kills to lead the Bulldogs. Senior Porshia Allen had six kills and 11 digs.
