Wolfe Named All-Tournament At Baylor

WACO, Texas - Senior Jessica Wolfe was voted to the all-tournament team at the Baylor University Classic this weekend. The 6-2 outside hitter posted 57 kills (4.75 per set) and 42 digs (3.50 per set) at the tourney.  

Wolfe started the season-opening tournament with a pair of double-doubles, collecting 18 kills and 14 digs vs. SMU and 25 kills and 20 digs in a five-set match with Stephen F. Austin. She finished the weekend with 14 kills and eight digs against host school Baylor.

Wolfe's all-tourney performance was a bright spot on a tough opening weekend for the Bulldogs. Butler finished 0-3 against the stiff competition at Baylor. The Bulldogs dropped a 3-0 decision to the Bears Saturday night to close the weekend.

The first set was close, with the Dawgs taking a 20-19 lead on a Baylor attack error. BU would lead 22-20 before Baylor came back to win 26-24.

Baylor claimed the next two sets, both by a 25-17 margin. 

Butler hosts Marian Tuesday, Aug. 31. The match, Butler's home opener, is at 7 p.m.
