Jessica Wolfe Named Horizon League Offensive Player Of The Week
INDIANAPOLIS - Following an all-tournament
team performance at Baylor during the season's opening weekend,
Butler senior outside hitter Jessica Wolfe was
named Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week. Wolfe averaged a
league-best 4.75 kills and 4.88 points per set to during the
season's first three matches.
Wolfe, a Plainfield, Ind., native opened the season with a pair of double-doubles against SMU and Stephen F. Austin. In the season opener vs. SMU, the 6-2 senior had 18 kills and 14 digs as BU lost 3-1. She then added 25 kills and 20 digs in a tight five-set loss to Stephen F. Austin. Wolfe finished the weekend with 14 kills and eight digs against Baylor.
Wolfe was named honorable mention All-America and All-Midwest Region last year after leading the Horizon League in kills and points. Butler volleyball finished 21-14 last season and 10-6 in the Horizon League.
Butler hosts its home opener Tuesday, Aug. 31 against Marian University at 7 p.m.
