Bulldogs Add Transfers Peterson And Stahl

INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler volleyball program, coming off its fourth straight winning season, has added two transfers for the 2012 season. Morgan Peterson, a setter from Middle Tennessee State, and Erica Stahl, a middle blocker from Cincinnati, have joined the Bulldogs.

Peterson, a 5-11 setter, spent three seasons at MTSU and will have two years of eligibility for Butler. She redshirted in 2009 and split time in 2010 before being the Blue Raiders' primary setter last year. She averaged 7.14 assists per set over two seasons and finished eighth all-time in assists at MTSU. Peterson averaged 8.58 assists and 1.41 digs per set in 2011 as Middle Tennessee State posted a 21-12 record.

Peterson, a native of Seymour, Tenn., was a four-time all-region and all-district player. She was named MVP of her district three times. Peterson, who was Valedictorian of her high school class, was also a track standout in high school.

Stahl, a 6-4 native of Indianapolis, comes to BU after appearing in four sets as a freshman last year at UC. She recorded one block. Stahl attended Bishop Chatard, where she was a two-time all-city selection. Stahl, who played for the Munciana Volleyball Club, was named among the top high school volleyball players by PrepVolleyball.com and the AVCA Under Armour Watch list.

Butler, which went 16-14 last year and finished third in the Horizon League, will return eight players who played in 50 sets last season.
