INDIANAPOLIS - Juniors Maggie Harbison and Claire Randich were selected to the all-tournament team at the Butler Classic over the weekend. The two Bulldog players were honored after leading BU to a 2-1 record at the four-team event.
Harbison, a native of Carmel, Ind., was Butler's top offensive player, leading the team with 3.65 kills per set. She also had 2.91 digs and 0.91 blocks per set. Harbison totaled 18 kills and 19 digs in a win over Western Illinois on Friday and added 16 kills and five blocks in a 3-1 win over Indiana on Saturday evening.
Randich, Joliet, Ill., native, was Butler's leading blocker at 1.82 blocks per set. She averaged 2.18 kills per set and had a team-best .273 hitting percentage. Randich had nine total blocks (two solo) in Butler's victory over Indiana. She made six blocks against Western Illinois and five vs. Stephen F. Austin.
Stephen F. Austin's Jill Ivey was named MVP of the Butler Classic. The other all-tourney players were Janet Hill and Tori Bates of Stephen F. Austin, Katie Hosteng from Western Illinois and Katie Gallagher from Indiana.
Butler (7-3) will play at Wright State Tuesday, Sept. 11. The Butler Invitational is this coming weekend, with Kent State, UC-Davis and SEMO coming to Hinkle Fieldhouse Sept. 14-15.
