INDIANAPOLIS -- The Butler women's volleyball team improved to 13-3 overall with a 3-0 sweep over the Marian Knights (25-6, 25-12, 25-13).
Butler posted high attack percentages in each set going for .462 in the opener, .371 in the second and .414 in the third. Obert hit .591, Wichern was second on the team at .636 and Stahl was third at .500.
Wichern took over the setter role against Marian and ended the match with a season-high 26 assists. From a defensive standpoint, Jadyn Yarling took over libero duties after the first set. She ended the match with 11 digs. Mary Striedl shared the team lead with 11 digs of her own while adding five kills.
Butler served the ball well, ending the match with seven service aces. Seven different players got involved with one service ace each.
Senior Maggie Harbison controlled the net on Saturday, leading the team with five blocks.
Butler overpowered Marian in the opening set to grab a 1-0 lead with a 25-6 win. Obert came alive in set two with seven kills to pace the team and the third set was a team effort led by Stephanie Kranda and Wichern.
The Bulldogs will return to action with three-straight home BIG EAST matches next weekend hosting Creighton on Friday, St. John's on Saturday and Seton Hall on Sunday.
