El Paso, Texas - Butler made quick work of NJIT in its final game of the Sun Bowl Invitational on Saturday (August 30) evening, hitting .320 in the match while smothering the Highlander offense to the tune of a .070 attack percentage in running to a swift 3-0 victory.

The Bulldogs recorded 45 kills in the bout while holding NJIT to just 25 and not allowing any player with more than six. Butler also posted a season-high 10 total blocks in the match.

Butler rode a 9-0 run early in the first set to rally from a 6-3 deficit to a 12-6 lead, a lead they would not give up en route to a 25-16 victory. The squad never trailed the rest of the way, as the Bulldogs tallied a dominant 25-12 win in the second set before sealing the match with a 25-16 triumph in the third.

Sophomore Jessica Wolfe notched her third double-figure kill total in as many matches, leading all players with 18 while hitting .405 (18-3-37). Sophomore Kelsey Labrum added seven kills while senior Dana Daprile notched six at a team-best .500 clip (6-2-8).

Sophomore Katie Daprile paced the squad with 10 digs, while junior Porshia Allen recorded a match-high six block assists.

Following the final match of the evening, both Labrum and Wolfe were tabbed to the All-Tournament Team.
