Butler's Norris and Carter Honored By Horizon League

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Two members of the Butler volleyball team were voted to the All-Horizon League team, the league office announced on Thursday (Nov. 15). Junior Keely Norris was cited to the all-league second team, while freshman Kali Carter earned all-newcomer team honors. Awards were voted on by the league's head coaches.
Norris, a 6-1 middle blocker, leads the Bulldogs (11-12, 6-8) with3.46 kills per game, while hitting .296. The Indianapolis native has played in all 23 matches this season, and averages 0.77 blocks per game. She was named to the 2000 second team all-conference as a sophomore.
Despite missing the last five matches due to an illness, Carter was one of six newcomers to be selected to the all-newcomer team. The 6-0 outside hitter averages 2.34 kills per game and 2.81 digs per game, both of which are best among all Butler rookies. A product of Columbus, Ind., Carter has played in 18 matches this season, appearing as a starter for 16 contests.
Butler, the No. 5 seed in the Horizon League Tournament, will battle it out against No. 4 UIC today (Nov. 16) at 5:30 in the tournament's first round at UW-Milwaukee.
